It’s here. Unofficially, fall has begun.
I can smell the crisp autumn air already coming around the corner – bringing along with it red and yellow leaves, pumpkins and nights curled up by the fire!
Being a Midwesterner for my entire life (living all but four years off and on outside of Wisconsin) I’ve learned that every year it’s the same thing – one day you’re wearing shorts and the next a parka. Still, I’m never prepared for it!
Actually, this past weekend still felt very summer-like; and I just finished posting about my Labor Day weekend when it was nearly 90 degrees outside!
Even though I’ve been anticipating the start of fall, Monday was kind of a kick in the head. Not only did I leave my apartment with an umbrella in hand, I was wearing a jacket and closed-toe shoes!
While it will be a couple more months before we’re forced to bring out our boots and sweaters, it’s time to say farewell to summer and welcome my favorite season!
I have to admit that this is the first summer that did not get to me. I think I am growing more tolerant of the heat and humidity. Even though I still look forward to my favorite season fall.
Sunday football games at local parks, bike rides through the leaves, sweaters, scarves, and extra blankets, are just a few reasons it tops my list. Also the movies tend to get better with the Oscar push coming up. Halloween is just around the corner, and I have both the Brewers and the Packers to root for in the upcoming months.
I am sorry to see summer go, but welcome fall with all it has to offer, with open arms.

Fall came out of no where! It was sunny and 80 for a week straight and then BAM we have one day that is chilly and rainy and suddenly fall is upon us. I can't believe the weather change. Not that I don't love it. It just came really fast. Time to throw on those jackets.
