Last night, on December 15, 2006 at approximately 10:00 p.m., the Play in the City hit counter rolled over from 99,999 to 100,000.
That's right. One hundred thousand hits.
WHOO HOO!
I've been waiting and waiting for this milestone to come - it's a big deal in the blog world! It took awhile to get here – a little over a year and a half – but those first six months or so were pretty quiet as I built up content. The past year has been a steady climb, and I sure hope it continues – a little bit faster with each passing day!
At this very moment, I am raising my glass in a toast to all of you who visit regularly, and to those who have moseyed on through once or twice, too. Thank you for helping me to get to 100K!

I'm not surprised: Milwaukee is incredibly lucky to have such a strong local resource. What you've accomplished should be an example to any other city looking to get closer to its citizens.
The fact that it's a compelling read even to those folks who live far away is a testament to your skills as a writer, and your general way of leading your life.
Keep that pen filled with ink. We'll read as much as you can crank out!

Almost daily visits for 18 months...count me in for adding about 500 to that total. Sometimes I forget that you don't know me.
I drive past the PR firm you work at everyday on my way home from work, and today I noticed it's now called 100 Monkeys. When did that happen?

Well a big thank you to you! :) I appreciate it very much. And you know, I hear that a lot from people who read my blog for months and then meet me - they say they feel weird, like they know so much about me ... I like it, though!
The agency has been 100 Monkeys officially since November 1, but the sign just went up this weekend. I came across the bridge this morning and saw it and was quite surprised - it looks good!
