It's been almost a week since I've posted, I know. And I do apologize – I know how annoying it is to go to one of my favorite blogs every day and see the same old post up for a week or more … But I've been one busy lady!
Work was hectic all week, and then yesterday I had a vacation day – my last free day until the wedding – and I spent literally the entire day, from sun-up to sun-down, working on two projects – wedding programs and favors.
The programs are double-sided on heavy champagne cardstock, and they had to be fed through my printer one at a time. Can you say tedious? The hours rolled one into another as I worked on favors and our seating chart, all the while getting up every three minutes to put a new program into the printer. I was in such a groove that I never even showered yesterday! And when I finally went to bed last night, I couldn't get the whirring sound of the printer out of my head for the life of me.
I finally finished the favors this afternoon – 180 of them, lined with tissue paper, filled with M&Ms and tied with pink ribbon. Dave helped a little each day, which was nice – even if he did eat practically as many as he put in the boxes.
After the monotony of the past two days and the HOURS spent on those two little projects, my mind is a bit numb. This wedding stuff is freakin time-consuming! The amount of effort we brides put into one little day just boggles my mind.
But I know it'll all be worth it!
I had my final dress fitting today, too, and it was fantastic. For fifteen glorious minutes, I got to wear my too-beautiful-for-words wedding dress, swooshing and posing in front of the mirror, checking out the bustle, trying on my jewelry with it, practicing dancing in it, and smiling like an absolute fool the entire time. It's simply perfect, and I cannot WAIT to wear it.
Just three more little weeks! Up until now, it just hasn't seemed real. I had a hard time picturing any of it, I didn't quite believe that it'd all actually be happening. But today something shifted and suddenly, it's real. It's very strange, but it's an awesome feeling.
Anyway, unlike yesterday, I did get outside a little today, and it was just the most gorgeous fall day. When Dave and I first got engaged, this was the date we had set for our wedding – but then the venue we chose didn't have that date available. Boy, what a glorious day we would have had! But oh well – if today were our wedding day, it'd be nearly over by now! Instead, I have three more weeks of anticipation and it all ahead of me still. J
So fall is here in full-force and it's spectacular. Since things are sure to get pretty crazy these next few weeks, Dave and I are going to enjoy the season while we can. Tomorrow we plan to visit Apple Holler to pick some apples and some pumpkins, which I'm really excited about. So I'll be back soon, hopefully with some jack-o-lantern pics to proudly display …
I love that I can feel your excitement about the wedding. Your posts literally always make me smile as I am enjoying your anticipation with you. If Hillari weren't getting married the same day as you, you can bet I'd be crashing your wedding. It's going to be fantastic! Enjoy the last 18 days! : )

I'm with Elizabeth. I love the spirit of your blog entries. Years from now, you'll re-read these and the energy will jump out and serve as an amazing memory of an amazing time.
I kept a journal before we got married and again when my wife was expecting. I often dig through the tattered old pages, and it just takes me back and reminds me why this was - and is - such an important time in my life.
