It's not that I think you all care that much about my various wedding and honeymoon plans … but if I didn't let you in on them, the wrong information would just be hanging out in cyberspace and that just won't do.
Dave and I have changed our honeymoon plans from Costa Rica to Mexico, and we are now all booked for one week at Secrets Capri in Riviera Maya.
(If you clicked that link - yeah, yeah, I know I sounded excited - but a girl can change her mind, right?)
I had been having second thoughts about the resort we chose in Costa Rica and also about going to that country but not really experiencing it (by staying put at our all-inclusive resort there).
We'll still get to Costa Rica one day, I hope … just not for our honeymoon. For our honeymoon, we decided (Ok, I decided - Dave was up for pretty much anything) that we wanted something less adventurous and far away and unknown, and more luxurious and relaxing and romantic.
I'm so relieved that the plans are finally set, and I'm beyond excited that in a little more than four months, I will be spending an entire week with my favorite person in the world, lying in the sun, sipping fruity drinks, eating like a queen, swimming, walking on the ocean, visiting the Mayan ruins, snorkeling, kayaking …
I. can't. wait.
I count twelve horizontal surfaces in that room, thirteen if you include the top of the entertainment center... now *that's* a honeymoon. Nudge nudge, wink wink, know what I mean, know what I mean, say no more, say no more?
Looks like a nice place otherwise too.

Ohhhhh, Andre - what would I do without you to make me laugh with your silly comments?
But I only count nine horizontal surfaces in that room ... ?
Why limit oneself just to one's room?
Now *that's* a honeymoon, my friend. :)

Looks like a great place! It looks very similar to the place we stayed at in Cabo.

Andre and Erin, I don't get it...what do you need horizontal surfaces for...?
*wink wink.*

Erin, I was talking about the lobby! Ha!
No, actually, in the room... Floor, bed, two end tables, couch, chair, coffee table, desk, two patio chairs, patio table, patio itself.

Andre!
It pained me to do it, but I had to edit your comment. This is a PG-rated blog! You want to get me in trouble? ;)

That's fine, so long as you admit that you're going to be referring to the said action by making that hand movement for the next week.

That I will do.
I actually did it when I read it and then I thought, why am I doing this?
If you're going to be at Jazz in the Park tonight, stop by the OnMilwaukee table and see me. I'll give you a free corkscrew.

Ba dum ba! Thank you, thank you? You'll be here all week?

Let us know how it goes in a future post. My fiancee and I are staying at Secrets Adventures next June when we go on our honeymoon.
Have fun and don't drink the water.

Thanks Justin!
I'm sure I will be quite post/picture-happy on here following the wedding and honeymoon, so you'll have to come back and read about it after November 5. :)

I don't get why you changed from Costa Rica. Costa Rica is unique and exciting. Mexico is cool and all, but come on - EVERYONE goes to Mexico!
Also, what travel agent are you using? I think it's rare that you can change what country you are going to!

Yeah, that's initially why I wanted to go to Costa Rica - because it's unique and different and beautiful. I said I'll still get there, just not for my honeymoon.
At first I didn't want to go where everyone else goes - but let's face it: there's a reason everyone goes to those places - because they're fabulous. And I think we'll be a lot happier at this resort than our planned resort in Costa Rica, plus it's a shorter plane ride and I just feel more comfortable taking this first trip somewhere closer and a bit more familiar.

Oh yeah, and we're going through East Town Travel.
It's not rare to change your travel plans - I'm sure people cancel trips for all kinds of reasons. We would have had to incur a cancellation fee had we gone with a different airline, but we ended up on the same one so it's all good.
