Well, it was kind of a bust of a weekend.
It rained yesterday for the fifth day in a row. We planned our morning around the kite festival still, our goal being to get down to the lake before noon for the grand launch. When we stepped out of the house, the rain was really coming down, but I was determined to still get down to the fest. I felt so bad for the organizers, that they'd plan something so big and then have the weather be so crappy! We got down to Veteran's Park, though, and no one was there ... the kite festival had been postponed until two weeks from now, May 27 and 28. I was relieved both that they were still having it and that I didn't have to spend any time in the cold rain. Dave wasn't feeling well yesterday so we just stayed home all day - and I was bored out of my mind!
Today was better, though not weather-wise. We visited Dave's parents in Whitewater for Mother's Day, then visited my family in Burlington, and now we're home, ready to settle in for part one of the season finale of Grey's Anatomy - a.k.a. the best show ever.
To all the moms out there, Happy Mother's Day. J
The weather here in NC has been bad also, Erin. It's probably not even any warmer here than it is up in WI--my girlfriend posted pictures today of hail here. I didn't get that, but I did get some nasty wind and bad rain.

I hope the two of you have better weather soon so you can get back to enjoying the city.
Michele sent me (and I'm a guy).

I'll look forward to reading about the kite fest in a couple of weeks, then. :) It's crappy up here in MN, too, so not a lot going on around here either!

It's been lousy here in the "other" London as well, so you've got lots of empathy from this side of the Great Lakes.
I enjoy seeing Milwaukee through your writing. I wish everyone could be as proud of his/her town as you are. I need to learn to be a little less cynical about mine :)
