Just as the “100 Things” list is a tradition in the blogosphere for one’s 100th post, so is the “Thursday Thirteen” on Thursdays … this one is new to me! (Thanks Amanda!)
The list can be anything you want it to be. Since we’re getting 3-6 inches of snow today here in Milwaukee and I don’t like it one bit, I give you my list:
Thirteen Things I’m Looking Forward To This Spring
1. Being able to go walking and running outside – so much better than doing workout videos in my living room.
2. Waking up when it’s light outside AND coming home from work when it’s still light out.
3. Grilling out nearly every night for dinner. Food tastes so much better on the grill.
4. Seeing Lake Michigan every day in all its bright blue glory – no more dreary, dark lake views.
5. No more shoveling my driveway. No more gloves. No more scarves. No more coats. No more scraping of car windows.
6. Outdoor patios at restaurants and beer gardens at bars.
7. Driving down Lincoln Memorial Drive and seeing all the people jogging, biking, sunbathing, rollerblading, sitting outside at Alterra …
8. Getting my bike out of the garage and going for a ride.
9. Brewers Opening Day. (that one’s for Dave.)
9. (Part II) Being that much closer to my wedding and honeymoon. =)
10. Opening the windows in my car and in my apartment and letting in that fresh, spring smell.
11. Feeling that natural high that spring brings – and enjoying the fact that everyone around me is in better spirits, too.
12. Writing an outdoor blog will be easy again. Plans no longer revolve around the temperature or the sun or whether or not it snows. The possibilities of what to do outside once again become endless!
13. The knowledge that summer is upon us – festivals, concerts, sporting events, cookouts – it doesn’t really get any better than that.
Isn't this fun? I'm glad that I came across the Thursday Thirteens!
So, I love how your post and my post totally relate to the snow - my love of it and your hatred for it (well, right now at least!). It's so funny to me that the weather is such a huge factor for us Midwesterners.
Happy Thursday!

I'm counting the days until I can open the windows in the wondervan, slide open the sunroof and let the smell of spring inside. I love how you worded it here. How refreshing!
