I got a job! Like a real world, using-my-college-degree, working Monday through Friday career kind of job.
I'm VERY excited. I gave my notice to the Bistro today and I start as a PR Account Executive at Zigman Joseph Stephenson on Monday already. I'm nervous and scared, too - it's always hard to be the new person, especially when just starting out in a new profession - but I think I'll be alright. I'm going to give it my all, learn as much as I can as quickly as I can, and enjoy doing something I'll hopefully be good at! The steady paycheck will be quite nice, as well.
I'm sad to be leaving the Lake Park Bistro, of course. I've worked there for two years and I really love all the people I work with. But it's time to move on. I'll hopefully keep in touch with them - and I can always come back for a delicious dinner when I want to!
In other news ... today's the day. Skydiving.
I know I've mentioned it a lot already, but it's a big, big deal!
I don't think the timing could be any better. I wanted to do it after Dave and I got engaged - sort of a "taking the plunge into our new life together" type of thing (I know, I'm a cornball.) But now we're both starting new jobs, too, so we're also taking the plunge into the real world. Very symbolic! And exciting!
We're scared as heck, but I know we'll be fine. It's a beautiful day - it's going to be INCREDIBLE!
*****UPDATE***** September 21, 2005
I'm not taking the job after all. Things have come to light and it isn't going to be in my best interest to accept the position. So I'm still at the Bistro, and I have a few promising leads at other companies. So thank you for the congrats - I hope you'll be able to offer them again very soon!
Congratulations on the new job! I hope sky diving went well...
