Love to play in the snow? Ever played in the snow in the middle of summer?
For the second year in a row, Milwaukee kids will get a snow day - in July! Milwaukee Recreation will dump a truckload of snow at a local park that kids and their parents can play in - until it melts, of course. This year, it's up to the public to decide where the snow will fall. Visit this site to vote for the playground of your choice. (I voted!) The voting ends July 14, and the snow day will be held the week of July 18.
I've actually done my fair share of playing in the snow in summer. When I was about 8, I played in a pile of snow in Green Bay in my bathing suit, and I still remember what a thrill it was! (Hmmm, maybe I can find a picture of that somewhere...) And here are my brothers and me having a snowball fight on a mountain in Colorado in the middle of July two years ago.
With all the cold and snow we get each year in Wisconsin, there's still something exotic and exciting about snow in July!
Where's the snow? St. Mary's Glacier, Colorado?

Nope!
It was in Rocky Mountain National Park, on Trail Ridge Road!

Any word on which park won the snow for July?

No, but I'll post about it when I find out.
